CARLE PLACE, N.Y. – Cops said a Long Island man upset about a speeding ticket decided to get even with a state trooper by making a mean prank phone call to his mother.
The caller told the cop’s mom that her trooper son had been badly injured in a road accident.
Cops were not amused.
They used phone records to zero in on a cell phone belonging to Lawrence Demaio of Carle Place.
The 54-year-old Demaio was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment.
The phone at Demaio’s home rang unanswered on Saturday.
